How do I Renew my CCM or CACM?

CCMs and CACMs can submit the paper renewal application found in the CMCI Renewal Handbook or online using the . Identified areas for point accumulation are located within the CMCI Renewal Handbook.

Recertification of your CCM or CACM designation is required every three years and includes:

CCM

  • 25 Renewal Points (RPs) earned from involvement in the profession and/or professional development;
  • A minimum of one (1) professional development activity RP on construction safety or ethics; and
  • $215 recertification fee.

CACM

  • 20 Renewal Points (RPs) earned from involvement in the profession and/or professional development;
  • A minimum of one (1) professional development activity RP on construction safety or ethics; and
  • $165 recertification fee.

CMCI reserves the right to request supporting information from any candidate seeking recertification.

CMCI also encourages CCMs and CACMs to consider courses from Â鶹´«Ã½ or CMCI Recertification Point Providers to meet the professional development requirements necessary to maintain their CMCI credentials. Renewal Point Providers can easily be identified by the Renewal Point Provider logo.


Renewal Testing Option

A CCM or CACM may choose to renew by paying the exam fee, taking, and passing the current exam in lieu of earning RPs. Those choosing to retake the exam must fill out the and should consider adequate time for scheduling their exam appointment and possible retesting prior to the renewal date.

Once a credential holder chooses to renew by retesting, they must complete the renewal by retesting and may not switch to earning RPs. Those who fail the exam lose their CMCI credential.

To regain the credential, the individual must retake the exam and pass using the current exam retake policies. Renewal through retesting or through RPs must occur by the scheduled renewal date (end of anniversary date) in order to maintain certification status.

At this time, CMCI has two options for candidates to take the CCM or CACM exam. Candidates may either take the exam via live remote proctoring or at an in-person .

Loss of Certification

A CMCI credential holder that has lapsed or expired may recertify by using either the renewal testing option or by submitting the renewal documentation and payment for each time period in which they have missed. An additional reinstatement fee may be required.
